Popular questions

How do I connect my own AI key?
Open Tailr, go to Settings → AI, and paste your key from OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), or Google (Gemini). On the BYOK plan your key is stored on your Tailr account, encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) — never in plaintext — and used only to run your tailoring requests. It's never written to our logs.
Does Tailr ever invent skills to raise my score?
No. Tailr only rephrases what's already true about you and lists everything else as a gap. On Pro, a keyword is added to your resume only after you confirm you actually have that skill.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free runs on Tailr's managed AI — a free account, no key needed, and every account (including Free) keeps a dashboard of saved résumés and generation history. Paid plans (Go, Pro) raise your daily limits and add features; BYOK lets you use your own AI key instead. Pro raises your saved-résumé limit and adds confirmed keywords on request. Pro also unlocks Career progress — XP, levels, streaks, daily quests, an activity heatmap, and badges; other plans see a locked preview.
How is the ATS match score calculated?
Tailr extracts the must-have keywords and responsibilities from the posting and measures honest coverage against your resume. You see matched terms, the exact gaps, and a score that updates live as you edit.
Will my exported resume parse in real ATS software?
Yes. Exports are single-column, selectable-text, one-page-friendly PDFs with no tables, columns, or images that trip up applicant tracking systems.
