Getting started

Create your first tailored résumé in a few minutes — here's the whole path.

What do I need to start?
Two things: a résumé (as a file or pasted text) and the job you're applying to, either as a link or pasted description. You don't need an AI key — Tailr runs the AI for you on the free plan and the managed paid plans. (Only the separate BYOK plan uses your own provider key.)
How do I tailor my first résumé?
Open Tailr, paste in the job posting (a link or the raw text both work), then upload or paste your résumé. Tailr reads the posting, rewrites your bullets and projects to genuinely match it, and shows you a match score with the exact gaps. Review the result, adjust anything you want to phrase differently, and export.
Do I need an account?
Yes — a free account, which takes a few seconds. Tailr runs the AI, you tailor, export, done — and your account keeps your résumés and generation history so you can come back to them later. Paid plans add higher daily limits and features.
What file formats can I upload?
PDF and DOCX uploads both work, or you can skip the file entirely and paste your résumé text directly into the box. However you bring it in, Tailr parses it into the same structured draft before tailoring.
How long does it take?
Tailoring a résumé to a single posting typically takes a few minutes — most of that is you reading the result and deciding how to handle any gaps, not waiting on the tool.
