Welcome to Tailr. Tailr is an AI résumé-tailoring app: you point it at a job posting, it reads the posting, tailors your résumé's bullet points and projects to match, scores how well your keywords cover the role, and renders a clean one-page PDF and DOCX. These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Tailr ("Tailr," "we," "us," or "our") and govern your access to and use of the Tailr website, application, and related services (together, the "Service"). Your privacy is covered separately by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and "you" includes that organization.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Tailr, and old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly permit them to create accounts. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service is lawful where you are.
3. What Tailr is — and isn't
Tailr is a writing and formatting aid. It helps you rephrase and reorganize résumé content you already have so it reads well for a specific posting and parses cleanly through applicant tracking software. It is not career, legal, financial, or immigration advice, and it does not guarantee any outcome — no interview, no offer, and no promise that a given résumé will pass any particular employer's ATS. You remain the author of your résumé and are solely responsible for what it says.
4. Your account
Tailoring a résumé requires a Tailr account, which is free to create. When you register you agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use. Accounts are for a single person; do not share credentials or let others use your account.
5. Plans, billing & payments
Tailr offers a Free plan and paid plans. Paid plans are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe; by subscribing you also agree to Stripe's terms. Current plans:
- Free — runs on Tailr's managed AI at no cost, within fair-use limits.
- Go and Pro — recurring subscriptions, billed either monthly ($2.99 / $6.99) on a fixed 28-day cycle, or annually ($29.90 / $69.90, about two months free versus monthly) billed once a year. Whichever you choose renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- BYOK ($20 one-time) — a single one-time purchase that grants one year of access to the bring-your-own-key feature. It does not auto-renew; when the year ends your account simply returns to the Free plan.
- Team — custom pricing arranged directly with us.
Taxes. Prices are exclusive of taxes unless stated; you are responsible for any applicable taxes. Price changes. We may change plan prices or features; for recurring subscriptions we will give reasonable advance notice, and changes take effect on your next billing cycle. Cancellation. You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account; cancellation stops future renewals, and your paid access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for (changes take effect at period end, and we do not pro-rate). Refunds. Except where required by law, all sales are final and we do not provide refunds on subscriptions or one-time purchases.
6. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) & AI providers
On the Free, Go, and Pro plans, Tailr supplies the AI for you within your plan's limits — you do not provide a key. On the BYOK plan you supply your own API key for a supported AI provider. Tailr supports a range of major providers — including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Mistral, DeepSeek, Groq, and others — as well as any OpenAI-compatible endpoint you configure with a custom base URL. If you use BYOK:
- You are responsible for keeping your key secure, for complying with your provider's terms, and for any usage fees your provider charges you directly.
- Your key is stored on your Tailr account, encrypted at rest, and is used only on our server to run your tailoring requests. It is never written to our logs and never stored in plaintext. See the Privacy Policy for the details.
- When you run a request, Tailr sends it to your chosen AI provider on your behalf, and that provider processes the content of your request under its own terms and privacy policy.
AI providers are independent third parties. We are not responsible for their availability, output, pricing, or how they handle data on their side.
7. Your content and the license you grant us
"Your Content" means the résumé text, uploaded files, job-posting links, prompts, and other material you provide. You keep all ownership of Your Content. You grant Tailr a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you — for example, to parse your upload, send your request to an AI provider, render your résumé, and show it back to you. This license ends when the relevant content is deleted or your account is closed, except for content already transmitted to a third-party provider at your direction, and for backups or logs retained transiently as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not use Your Content to train AI models.
8. AI-generated output
Tailr uses AI to draft and rephrase résumé content. AI output can be imperfect: it may contain mistakes, awkward phrasing, or misinterpretations. Tailr is deliberately designed to stay honest — for example, the Pro rewrite only surfaces job-description keywords you confirm you actually have, and it does not invent skills or experience — but you are responsible for reviewing every résumé before you use it and for the accuracy and truthfulness of everything it claims. Do not submit statements you cannot support. To the extent output is not restricted by a third-party provider and is capable of ownership, we assign to you whatever rights we have in the output generated for you.
9. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service lawfully and not to misuse it. In particular, you will not:
- Upload unlawful, infringing, hateful, or fraudulent content, or content you don't have the right to use.
- Impersonate anyone, or use the Service to build or submit a résumé that misrepresents someone else's identity or history.
- Probe, scan, overload, or attempt to bypass the crawler's safeguards, rate limits, quotas, or authentication; or attempt to reach internal, private, or non-public addresses through the job-posting crawler.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service, or use it to build a competing product.
- Introduce malware, or interfere with the integrity, security, or performance of the Service.
- Use automation to access the Service beyond your plan's limits, or share a single account across multiple people.
We may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including suspending or terminating access.
10. Tailr's intellectual property
The Service — including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and the "Tailr" name and brand — is owned by Tailr or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service as intended. No rights are granted except those expressly set out here; all other rights are reserved. You may not use our name or branding without permission.
11. Third-party services
The Service relies on and links to third parties — including Stripe (payments), Supabase (accounts and data storage), your chosen AI provider (the managed-plan provider we use, or on BYOK any provider or custom endpoint you configure), and the external job-posting sites you ask us to fetch. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party sites and services, and including a link or integration is not an endorsement.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that any résumé will parse through a given ATS, or that using Tailr will lead to any interview, offer, or other result. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tailr and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or USD 50. These limits apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tailr and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use or misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time, and you can delete your account and the data tied to it yourself from the account menu (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or where necessary to comply with the law or protect the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive — including content ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will survive.
16. Changes to the Service and to these Terms
We are actively developing Tailr and may add, change, or remove features. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms here with a new "last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Changes take effect when posted, and your continued use of the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree to a change, stop using the Service.
17. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and you and Tailr submit to the courts of England and Wales for any disputes, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise. Before filing a formal claim, please contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve it informally.
18. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Tailr about the Service and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
